What is Cloud VPN? 
Interspace Cloud VPN is a next-generation technology for creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that can span across multiple physical sites and cloud resources. It is an evolution from traditional VPN systems, with the key difference: the central hub (VPN gateway) is located in highly secure and reliable cloud infrastructure. The central hub can accept the following types of VPN connections:

  • Connections from VPN routers for site connections
    A VPN router is a network device that connects an entire site/location with the VPN network. They can be deployed at headquarters, branch offices, retail locations and other facilities. The VPN router enables all computers and devices on the private networks at that site to communicate securely with other connected sites and with your servers in the Interspace Cloud.
  • Connections from VPN users for computer connections
    A VPN user represents an account that can access the VPN network directly from computers or smartphones, even if they are not part of the private networks of the connected sites. No additional software is needed, as there are built-in VPN clients in Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android that work with our VPN technology.
  • Connections from cloud servers
    All servers in the Interspace Cloud can join the VPN network simply by adding a network interface to a private IP subnet that is part of the VPN.

The VPN connections create highly secure tunnels for data transmission among all connected points, encrypting data as it travels over the Internet. Interspace uses IKEv2 with IPSec for securing the communication, which are among the most reliable and widely-adopted VPN protocols available today.

VPN connections are managed and monitored in the My Interspace web control panel, with tools for creating access accounts, private IP pools, monitoring current sessions, analyzing past sessions, disconnecting sessions and more.

If an incident occurs at the primary site, the standby system activates and continues operating with the original configuration.

To configure VPN connections for routers representing entire office networks, simply use the My Interspace control panel to create router profiles with connection passwords and private subnets that will be routed to the LAN network. When the router connects to Cloud VPN, all computers in the office network can access your servers in the Cloud Private Network, as well as computers in other office networks connected to the same Cloud VPN.

For VPN connections from individual computers or smartphones, configuration is equally simple. Create user profiles in the My Interspace control panel, then provide the access details to your users. They will not need to install additional software, as there are built-in VPN clients in Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android that work seamlessly with our VPN system.

The My Interspace control panel provides comprehensive monitoring and management of VPN sessions. You can view active sessions with details about which user or office is connected, their IP address, connection duration, and more. You can disconnect specific sessions and block further access as needed. The control panel maintains a complete history of all connections, including connection and disconnection times, IP addresses, and other details useful for security audits.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks can flood your cloud infrastructure with malicious traffic, making it unable to respond to legitimate users. Interspace DDoS Protection uses specialized hardware systems to filter such traffic before it reaches your systems, ensuring your applications remain continuously available.

Standard DDoS Protection is included at no cost for Elastic Cloud VPS, Cloud VPN, Cloud NАТ Gateway, Cloud Load Balancer and Cloud Web Hosting. It automatically identifies and defends against common network and transport layer attacks (L3 and L4) that flood your bandwidth or exhaust server resources. This includes SYN floods, UDP floods, ICMP floods, IP spoofing, fragmentation attacks, reflection attacks, protocol exploits and more.

Our data centers are built with multiple redundancy layers and continuous monitoring systems to deliver carrier-grade reliability for mission-critical operations, as specified below.

Power System

Each rack receives dedicated A+B power line feeds with full AC redundancy. Both power paths are protected by independent UPS systems and backed by diesel generators. The power transformer connects to the electrical substation in ring topology, eliminating single points of failure at the utility interface.

Automatic transfer switches enable seamless failover between power sources without service interruption. The infrastructure maintains full operational capacity during complete utility failures, with generator fuel reserves supporting extended outage scenarios.

Cooling System

Redundant precision cooling units maintain optimal temperatures for maximum hardware performance and longevity. Cold aisle containment directs conditioned air precisely to equipment intake zones, preventing mixing with warm exhaust air and maximizing thermal efficiency.

The cooling infrastructure operates with N+1 redundancy. Variable speed fans and intelligent controls adjust output based on real-time thermal loads. Temperature distribution remains uniform across all racks, preventing hotspots that could degrade performance.

Fire Protection

High Sensitivity Smoke Detection (HSSD) systems detect microscopic combustion particles at the earliest possible stage, well before visible smoke develops. Multi-zone detection enables precise incident localization. Total-flooding suppression using clean agents extinguishes fires without damaging electronics or leaving residue.

All doors and cable penetrations carry 90-minute fire resistance ratings, containing incidents and preventing spread between zones.

Environmental Monitoring

Continuous monitoring tracks parameters critical to equipment reliability and performance. Strategically positioned sensors throughout the facility provide real-time data and immediate alerts when thresholds are exceeded.

Temperature sensors create a complete thermal map across all zones. Humidity monitoring and automated control systems maintain strict moisture ranges, preventing condensation damage and static buildup. Airflow sensors detect circulation changes indicating cooling issues. Particulate detection identifies dust, smoke and contaminants in the air. Water leak sensors beneath raised floors provide instant alerts for any moisture intrusion from cooling systems or other sources.

IT Infrastructure Monitoring

Comprehensive monitoring provides visibility into every infrastructure layer, from power distribution and cooling through network devices and server hardware. Inside the devices themselves, monitoring extends to processors, storage drives, cooling fans, temperature sensors, power supplies and optical transceiver signal strength.

This granular visibility enables detection and resolution of developing issues before they impact service performance. Alert systems use threshold analysis and trend detection to notify technical teams of anomalies immediately.

Network Infrastructure

Terabit-capable networking equipment supports high-bandwidth enterprise workloads. Multiple physically separated fiber entrances provide diverse paths into the building and data center, eliminating connectivity single points of failure. Structured cabling infrastructure provides organized pathways supporting rapid troubleshooting and capacity expansion.

Diverse fiber paths connect to multiple upstream carriers, ensuring no single cable cut or carrier outage can isolate facilities from internet connectivity.

Physical Security
